Two Handmade Faceted Agate Marbles, 0.88 in each, NM+, Germany, 1860-1920, S1567

   This is a pair of antique handmade agate marbles.  These were made on large vertical grinding wheels in the old days.  Each was hand faceted and you can see small flashes of reflection which show they were make differently than today's machine-made agates.  These took considerable time to make in the old days.  Attached is a picture of how they used to make them in Germany in the old days.
