These were the stands used for the Bennington marbles when they applied to glaze and then sent them into the kiln for firing. When the Bennington marbles cured, they often stuck to each other and the stands themselves producing the distinctive 'eye' patterns on the marbles. Really getting tougher to find these old marble stands.
